(10/14/12) Pawtucket – Anita E. (Kelly) Wims, 90, a loving wife and devoted mother, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, October 12, 2012. She was the beloved wife of the late Francis “Mickey” J. Wims. Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Malachi E. and Loretta M. (Burns) Kelly, she resided in Pawtucket most of her life. Anita was a graduate of St. Joseph School, Pawtucket East High School and the Tabbutt-Hubbard School of Business. She was a secretary for the New England Telephone Company before leaving to raise her family. A devout catholic, she was a communicant of St. Teresa Church and an active member of St. Teresa’s Mother’s Club. Anita was a trained soprano, she especially enjoyed singing and playing the piano, she also enjoyed traveling. She leaves three loving children, David K. Wims and his wife, Jeannette of Ossipee, NH, Melissa Wims Risk and her husband, Barry of Pawtucket with whom she made her home and Peter F. Wims and his wife, Deb of Indianapolis, Indiana; eight grandchildren, Kelly, James, Francis and Edward Wims, Heather Kraus, Tamara Risk, and Matthew and Michael “Mickey” Wims and numerous nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Mary Cahill, John, Malachi, Loretta and Michael Kelly, Helen “Cunnie” Oxley, James Kelly, Geraldine Hoyt and Barbara Pelletier. Her funeral will be held Thursday at 9 a.m. from WILLIAM W. TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Teresa Church, 358 Newport Ave., Pawtucket. Interment will follow at St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket.
