(09/30/15) Lincoln - Marla A. (Mendillo) Barrett, 54, died Monday, September 28, 2015 at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center, Providence surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Mark Barrett.
Born in Woonsocket, the loving daughter of Raymond Mendillo of Lincoln and the late Patricia M. (DiSalvo) Mendillo, she had lived in Lincoln for the past 19 years.
A teacher for 27 years, Marla was a 3rd grade teacher at the Lonsdale Elementary School in Lincoln where she has worked for the past 23 years. She was a member of the Lincoln Teachers Association, and a member of the following committees: the LHS Grid Iron Club, the LHS PACT; the LHS Athletic Council; the LHS Band Booster; the Lonsdale LPT; the Lonsdale PBIS team; and the District Anti-Bullying Taskforce. She was also the Team Football Mom and the Team Lacrosse Mom.
She was a 1986 graduate of Rhode Island College.
She was a huge fan of the New England Patriots.
Besides her husband and father, she is survived by her two beloved sons, Mark R. Barrett and Christopher C. Barrett, both of Lincoln; her loving brother, Thomas J. Mendillo and his wife, Emilie of North Attleboro, MA; and several nieces and nephews.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, October 3 at 10 A.M. in St. Jude’s Church, 301 Front Street, Lincoln. Her burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland.
