(08/28/15) Edward David Ennis, 91, of Leeward Drive, Westerly, RI, formerly of Avon, CT and Brewster, NY, passed away on Thursday afternoon, August 27, 2015 at his home. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth J. (Wilson) Ennis of Westerly, his daughters, Pamela Maxwell (Thomas Maxwell) of Milford NH, Laurel Ennis (Leslie Ryan) of Westerly, and son, David R. Ennis (Barbara Batten Ennis) of Ozona FL, five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and his brother, Robert Ennis of Oradell NJ.
Mr. Ennis was born in Hoboken, NJ on September 5, 1923, the son of the late Richard and Mary (McQuinn) Ennis. He was a proud member of the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II, serving in both Italy and Africa. After his service to our country, Edward received his undergraduate and graduate degrees from Springfield College, Springfield MA. He was a teacher and coach for many years in the Fort Plain and Brewster, NY School Systems.
The family thanks the private caregivers, as well as both the staff and caregivers of Gentiva Hospice and South County Quality Care for their amazing support and assistance.

Funeral services will be private and are under the direction of Rushlow-Iacoi Funeral Home & Crematory, 64 Friendship Street, Westerly. A Memorial Service is planned, details of which will be announced.
