(08/16/15) BARDEN, Leona M. “Lee”, (Camire), 86, of Princeton Ave., Coventry, passed away Saturday evening, Aug. 15, 2015 at home with her family.
She was the beloved wife of James J. Barden, they had been married for 58 years. Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Omer and Clara (Monette) Camire. She resided in Coventry for 55 years.
Mrs. Barden graduated from Gorton High School and was a communicant of SS. John & Paul Church. She was a crafter and participated in craft shows throughout the state including the Scituate Art Festival. Lee also enjoyed playing golf.
Besides her husband she leaves her children, James P. Barden and his wife Cathy of Coventry, Timothy J. Barden of Costa Mesa, CA, Raymond Erban of Warwick, Linda Czop and her husband Greg of West Warwick and Dianne Varr of Georgetown, MA; a sister, Flora Tourgee of West Warwick; fourteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Ben and Ernie Camire.
Her funeral will be held Thursday, Aug, 20, 2015 at 9 am from the PRATA-GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 78 Providence Street, West Warwick. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am in SS. John & Paul Church, South Main St., Coventry. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, West Greenwich. Visiting hours Wednesday 4-7 pm.
