(08/07/15) Cumberland – Margaret Madeleine (Bouchard) Lamontagne, 81, died peacefully on July 14, 2015, at the Bethany Home in Providence.
Born and raised in Manville, RI, Margaret was the daughter of the late Elcy and Marion (Rondeau) Bouchard. She was the beloved wife of the late Rosaire “Ross” Lamontagne, whom she met in junior high school. They remained sweethearts until his death two years ago. They were married in 1951 and lived in Albion for forty-six years before moving to Cumberland in 1996. She was a parishioner of St. Ambrose Church, Albion most of her life.
After attending St. Xavier Academy, Margaret worked at IBM as a keypunch operator. She also worked as a nurse’s aide at the former Woonsocket Hospital currently Landmark Medical Center, and also shared her gifts and talents with RIARC of Woonsocket during the 1980’s.
She is survived by her four children, David and his wife, Paulette, of North Smithfield; Mark and his wife, Diane, of Smithfield; Renee of Middletown: and Michelle Metivier and her husband, Bruce, of Glendale, Arizona. In addition, she has three grandchildren, Joshua Metivier, Shanna Metivier, and Avril Bentley; and one great grandchild, Neala Bentley. She was also the sister of Kenneth Raymond Bouchard of Coventry and the late Normand Bouchard.
Her life will be celebrated with a Memorial Mass on Saturday, August 22 at 10 A.M. in St. James Church, 33 Division Street, Manville, RI.
