(08/04/15) Lillian Mary (Howard) Lautieri went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at the age of 92. She was at home in peace and surrounded by her loving family. She will be joining her beloved husband of 63 years, Anselm “Al” Lautieri, her brothers, Byron and Walter Howard, her sister, Rita (Howard) Harrington and her grandson, Daniel Gendron.
Lillian was born in Westerly, RI to Rosanna and Benjamin Howard in 1923. She moved to West Warwick with her husband and raised her family there before spending twelve very happy years in Florida after their retirement and eventually returning to Pawcatuck, CT in 2000 to be closer to her family.
Lillian worked for over 25 years as a waitress at the Shamrock Restaurant in West Warwick, RI and later at Sears and Roebuck in West Palm Beach, FL. She loved taking care of people and making conversation, she was wonderful at both. Lillian was an avid Yankees fan, an excellent bowler and always loved to watch a golf match.
She is survived by her children and their spouses; Judith and David Reidy of West Warwick, RI, Charles and Patricia Lautieri of West Palm Beach, FL and Laurie and Scott Wilkerson of Gales Ferry, CT. In addition, she is also survived by six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren who adore her.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary’s Church, 95 Main Street, Stonington, CT on Thursday, August 6, 2015 at 10:00 am. There is no procession from the funeral home. Burial will take place at Rhode Island Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, Exeter, RI. Calling hours will take place at Rushlow-Iacoi Funeral Home & Crematory, 64 Friendship Street, Westerly, RI on Wednesday, August 5, from 5:00-7:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Lillian’s memory to the St. Michael’s Church restoration project will be greatly appreciated.
