(07/20/15) Virginia E. (Lanoue) Horan, 85, formerly of Manor Road, Cranston passed away on Monday, July 20, 2015 at Alpine Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late James J.P. Horan. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Oliver J. and Blanche (Pidgeon) Lanoue.
Mrs. Horan was a Bookkeeper in the Manufacturing Industry until her retirement. She was a longtime communicant of St. Joseph Church in West Warwick where she served as a Eucharistic Minister. She also served as a volunteer for several years at the St. Jeanne Jugan Residence of the Little Sisters of the Poor.
She was the loving aunt of William G. Lanoue, Richard Lanoue, Cathy Lanoue, Sandy Patel and her husband Ashvin, Robert Lanoue, Daniel Perry and his wife Donna, Ronald Perry and his wife Kathy, Lori Rossi and John Perry and his wife Michelle. She is also survived by several grandnieces and grandnephews. She was the sister of the late William O. Lanoue.
Her funeral will be held on Friday, July 24, 2015 at 9:00 am from THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Route 5, Warwick (Exit 12A on I-95) with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Joseph Church, 854 Providence Street, West Warwick. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited. Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 4-6 pm.
