(10/08/12) Roland F. Wing, 65, of Warwick, died peacefully at home on Thursday, October 4, 2012. He was the beloved husband of Linda Ann (Wood) Wing. Born in South Kingstown, he was the son of the late Leo Wing and Una (Roberts) Wing.
Mr. Wing was employed as a Commercial Construction Worker until his retirement.
He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War, where he earned two Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star Medal. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans.
Besides his wife, he leaves his two sons, Donovan Wing of Florida, Rocco Wing of Pennsylvania, and one step-son, Thomas Crum of Florida. Cherished grandfather of two grandchildren. He was the brother of Betty Ann Bolduc of Florida.
A Committal Service with Military Honors will be held Friday, October 12, 2012 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 301 So. County Trail, Exeter, RI. Relatives and friends are asked to meet at the Administration Building at 10:45 am prior the service. Calling hours are respectfully omitted.
In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory to Home & Hospice Care of RI, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904 will be appreciated.
