(06/22/15) Richard \"Rick\" J. Loftus, age 68, died June 20, 2015 unexpectedly at his home in Worcester, MA. Rick was a long-time resident of Franklin, MA, graduating FHS in 1964.
He was the only son of the late Gladys E (Livesey) Loftus and Lowell J Loftus.
Rick was the type of person who would give the shirt off his back and his last dime to anyone. Everyone in his presence felt loved and cared about. He was loved in return by anybody who was blessed to know him.
Rick was a Veteran of the Vietnam War and served his Country proudly for 6 years. Rick was an avid sports fan, especially New England sports and Notre Dame football. He loved meteorology and if anyone needed a weather report, he was always in the know. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, playing cards and telling stories.
He is survived by his sister Susan E. (Loftus) Ramsdell and her husband Bruce K Ramsdell and sister Nancy E. (Loftus) Hill; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm with a service to follow in THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Ave., Route 5, Warwick (Exit 12A off I-95). A Committal Service with full Military Honors will be held on Thursday at the Massachusetts National Veterans Cemetery, Connery Avenue, Bourne, MA. Relative and friends are invited to meet at the cemetery entrance at 10:30 am.
