Birdie (Mathews) Angelone - Lincoln, RI

(06/13/15) Lincoln – Birdie (Mathews) Angelone, 90, of Sylvia Lane, died Thursday, June 11, 2015 at the Holiday Retirement Home, Manville. She was the beloved wife of the late Edward A. Angelone. Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Joseph and Bernardina (Botelho) Mathews, she had lived in Lincoln since 1978, and wintered in La Quinta, California. Mrs. Angelone was a graduate of Hope High School, Class of 1943, and the Roger Williams School of Nursing, Class of 1946. She was a registered nurse for many years, working at Butler Hospital, Miriam Hospital, and Weymouth Hospital, and later worked in various physician’s offices, before retiring. She was a member of Kirkbrae Country Club, Lincoln, and PGA West Club, La Quinta, California. She was a communicant of St. Maria Goretti Church, Pawtucket, and St. Jude Church, Lincoln. She is survived by her two sons, Dennis Angelone, and his wife Marilyn, of North Scituate, and Steven Angelone, and his wife Karen, of Lincoln; three grandchildren, Briana Lepore, Robert Angelone, and Steven Angelone, Jr.; and one great-grandson, Caleb Lepore. She was the sister of the late Daniel Mathews. Visiting hours will be held Wednesday, June 17, from 10:00 -11:00 a.m. at Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln. Her funeral service will follow at 11:30 a.m. in the Garden Mausoleum of Swan Point Cemetery, 585 Blackstone Boulevard, Providence. Relatives and friends are invited.
