(05/29/15) Frederick C. Reynolds, Sr., 84, of Camp Westwood Road, Greene, died Thursday, May 28, 2015 at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center in Providence. He was the beloved husband of Mildred L. (Shute) Reynolds with whom he celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary on December 8, 2014.
Born in Bristol, CT, a son of the late Walter Earl Reynolds and the late Grace (O\'Brien) Reynolds, he had lived in Coventry since 1937. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He worked for Texaco as a truck driver and was a member of Texaco’s “Million Mile Club” a membership of distinction presented to those drivers who log in over a million miles without one accident. Fred will be remembered for how much he loved taking care of his yard.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children: Frederick C. Reynolds Jr. & his wife Linda of Coventry, Elaine F. Reynolds of Coventry, Mary L. Reynolds-Devolve & her husband Richard of Norton, MA and Anna Mattoni & her husband Edward of Coventry; five grandchildren: Norman Nilsson, Elizabeth & Alexander Devolve, Andrew & Morgan Reynolds, and two great grandchildren: Norman Nilsson Jr. & Dana Nilsson. He was predeceased by his nine siblings.
His funeral service will be held on Monday, June 1 at 9:30 AM at Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home & Crematory, 659 East Greenwich Avenue, West Warwick. Calling hours will be on Sunday at the funeral home from 2:00 – 5:00 PM. Burial with military honors will be in the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter.
