Susan (Smith) Gorman - Pawtucket, RI

(05/27/15) Pawtucket – Susan (Smith) Gorman, 65, the beloved wife of Raymond F. Gorman, passed into eternal life Monday the 25th of May at the Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island. Born in 1948 in Hartford, CT, to the late Arthur and Louise (Nolin) Smith, she spent her youth in North Attleboro, MA. She lived in Sandwich, MA, before settling in Pawtucket, RI, and would often winter in North Palm Beach, FL. A graduate of the Nursing Program at Cape Cod Community College, Susan proudly nursed for 40 years. Most of her career was spent at the Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island and later as a home therapy nurse before her retirement. Susan was an attentive mother and doting grandmother, and loved spending time with her family by the pool at Pawtucket Country Club where she and her husband were members. She was also a devout fan of all New England sports teams. Besides her husband, she is survived by two sons, Christopher and David Allard, both of Fort Collins, CO; one brother, Ted Smith of North Attleboro, MA; two sisters, Kelly Lowry of California and Christine Braveman of New York; twelve grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Billy and Bob Smith. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 30th beginning at Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln, RI, at 8:30 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Teresa’s Church, 358 Newport Avenue, Pawtucket, RI, at 10:00 A.M. Final burial will be at Mount St. Mary’s Cemetery, Pawtucket, RI. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at Bellows Funeral Chapel on Friday, May 29th from 5:00 - 8:00 P.M.
