(03/06/15) Joan (Underhill) Wheaton, 82, of Warwick passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2015 at Philip Hulitar Hospice Center. She was the wife of the late Donald E. Wheaton. Born on Captiva Island, Florida, she was a daughter of the late George W. and Jean (Futch) Underhill.
Mrs. Wheaton was a Supervisor in the Accounting Dept. of Blue Cross & Blue Shield of RI until her retirement.
She was the beloved mother of Michael E. Wheaton of West Warwick, William G. Wheaton and his wife Terry of Charlestown, Robert Charles Wheaton and his wife Donna of Cranston, Jean D. Iacono and her husband Steven of Stuart, FL and Donna L. Dubois and her husband Paul of Warwick. Loving grandmother of William G. Wheaton, Jr., Donald E. Wheaton, Stacey D’Antuono and Ashley, Samantha and Madison Wheaton. Cherished great grandmother of Harmony Rose Wheaton, Donald E. Wheaton, III, Troy Jeffrey Wheaton, Carter P. D’Antuono, Mackenzie J. D’Antuono and Hunter R. Broz. Caring sister of Jack Underhill, David Underhill and June Hansen, all of Florida, Letha Lowry of Georgia and Linda Sweeney of North Carolina.
Funeral Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, gifts in her memory to American Cancer Society, 931 Jefferson Blvd., Suite 3004, Warwick, RI 02886 would be appreciated.
