(02/14/15) FALLON, Kieran Patrick, 59, prominent Miami attorney, passed away on February 2, 2015 in Miami, Florida. Attorney Fallon was the husband of attorney Rae Shearn and son of Mary Ryan Fallon of Providence and the late Patrick J. Fallon.
Mr. Fallon, a 1973 graduate of LaSalle Academy, received his undergraduate degree from Boston College in 1977 and his law degree from Boston College Law School with Honors in 1980. After graduation from law school in 1980, he returned to Providence to clerk for Chief Justice Thomas F. Kelleher of the Rhode Island Supreme Court.
In 1982, he moved to Miami, which was to become his home for the remainder of his life. Upon arrival in Miami, Attorney Fallon was appointed Chief of Organized Crime and Chief of the Robbery Division for the then State Attorney Janet Reno’s Crime office. He later embarked on a successful law career in private practice, did pro bono work and taught as an adjunct professor of law at Nova University.
His keen interest in the hospitality and restaurant business led him to a partnership in several well-known Miami restaurants, including The River Oyster Bar, Oak Tavern and Jake’s.
Kieran was a loving husband, son, loyal friend and genuine counselor. His distinguished legal career and accomplishments were centered on his love of Irish storytelling and his patient and kindhearted manner.
