(02/08/15) Lincoln – Gertrude S. (Spady) Edmondson, 93, of Lincoln died Sunday, February 8, 2015 at the Friendly Home, Woonsocket. She was the wife of the late George T. Edmondson.
Born in Midvale, Idaho, a daughter of the late Henry L. and Kate (Schwabauer) Spady, she had lived in Cumberland before moving to Lincoln 55 years ago.
Mrs. Edmondson was a registered nurse for many years and had worked at Fuller Memorial Hospital, Attleboro, MA before retiring in 1987. She was a graduate of Glendale Adventist Hospital School of Nursing, Glendale, California.
She was a longtime member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Lincoln.
She is survived by two daughters, Dawn L. Edmondson-Smith and Beverly R. Berendes, both of Lincoln; two sons, John T. Edmondson of Portland, Oregon and Grant T. Edmondson of Newport; six grandchildren, John and Dean Edmondson, Kristin Edmondson Allard, Justin and Zachary Berendes, and Katiana Smith; two great grandchildren, AJ and Juliet Allard; and several nieces and nephews. She was the grandmother of the late Wiley Smith, and was predeceased by her nine siblings.
Her funeral service will be held Thursday, February 12 at 11 A.M. at Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln. Her burial will be private.
