(02/04/15) Cumberland – Walter D. Ptaszek, 83, of Cumberland died Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at Landmark Medical Center, Woonsocket. He was the husband of the late Annie (Anderson) Ptaszek.
Born in Acushnet, MA, a son of the late Peter and Helen (Glowacki) Ptaszek, he had lived in Lincoln for over 40 years before moving to Cumberland 5 years ago.
Mr. Ptaszek was a civil engineer for the R.I. Department of Transportation for 50 years, before retiring in 2008. He was a graduate of Wentworth Institute, Worcester, MA.
He was a Korean War Army veteran.
He is survived by two sons, Walter M. Ptaszek and his wife, Tina, and Richard D. Ptaszek and his wife, Jane, all of Cumberland; one brother, George Ptaszek of Burrillville; five grandchildren, Bryan, Jared, Kyle, Joshua and Annika Ptaszek; and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Joseph Ptaszek.
His funeral service will be held Saturday, February 7 at 12 Noon at Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln. His burial will be private.
