(00/27/15) Sandra M. Williams, 69, passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at Rhode Island Hospital. She was the wife of Arthur H. Williams Sr. of Providence. Born in Providence, she is the daughter of the late Charles C. and Esther M. (Elderkin) Proffit.
Sandra is Native American food vendor owner of Mishquatuck Grille and worked with the greater Elmwood community service with focuses on improving the neighborhood. She was a very ambitious worker with success at many jobs both big and small. She worked at T. Sardellis & Sons Jewelry, Mary Kay, Avon and School House Candy.
Besides her husband she is survived by three children: Arthur H. Williams Jr., Adam T. Williamsa and Natashia M. Williams; eight grandchildren: Elijah, Malachi, Kachina, Junia, Adam, Arthur, Julian and Richard; five siblings: Walter Proffit, Rodney Proffit, Charles C. Proffit, Esther M. Proffit and Barbara Wilson. She is predeceased by a son Lawrence E. Williams and two siblings: Raymond Proffit and Lawrence Proffit.
Her funeral service will take place at Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home & Crematory, 659 East Greenwich Avenue, West Warwick, RI on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at 3 PM. Visitation will be 2-3 PM prior to her service. Burial will be Wednesday at 10 AM, at North Burial Ground, 5 Branch Avenue, Providence, RI 02904.
