(01/25/15) Josephine M. (Servidio) Conklin, 89, of High Meadow Drive, Westerly, passed away on Saturday afternoon, January 24, 2015 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was pre-deceased by her husband, George H. Conklin in 2001. She is survived by her daughter Anne Thomas and her husband Charles of NC, her son, Bill Conklin and his wife Bettie of TX, her sisters, Irene Nadolny of CA, Rita Myllymaki of Westerly, Mary West of Westerly and Lillian Uzzi of Westerly, her brother, Mario Servideo of Westerly, her grandchildren, Mary Perkowski, Mark Thomas, Matthew Thomas and Kevin Conklin and six great-grandchildren. She was also pre-deceased by her sisters, Angelina Woodard, Ann Consorte and Camille Visgilio and her brothers, Samuel and Eugene Servidio.
Mrs. Conklin was born in Westerly on March 21, 1925, the daughter of the late James and Rose (Ferrara) Servidio. Josephine worked at the American Felt Company of Westerly and then became a stenographer at Ashaway Inc. of Ashaway. She was a member of St. Pius X Church and their church choir.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, January 29, 2015 at 11:00 am at St. Pius X Church, 44 Elm Street, Westerly. Burial will be private. A calling hour will take place on the morning of the Mass from 9:30 am to 10:30 am at Rushlow-Iacoi Funeral Home & Crematory, 64 Friendship Street, Westerly.
