(01/20/15) Richardson, David A., 83, passed away on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at Kent Hospital in Warwick, RI. He was the husband of Rosemary (Dowd) Richardson of East Greenwich. Born in Meriden, CT; he was the son of the late Arthur A. and Grace E. (Carter) Richardson.
Mr. Richardson graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Rhode Island. After becoming an electrical engineer he was employed and retired with the Foxboro Company. He was a Korean War Army Veteran, enjoyed golfing and boating; furthermore he extended his expertise as owner of \'Richardson Compass Service\', repairing boat compasses for various boaters.
Besides his wife Rosemary, he is survived by nine children: David Richardson, Susan, Stephen and Michael Cook, Thomas, James, Stephen, Rev. John and Robert Soares; thirteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and two nieces. He was predeceased by his wife Barbara Jean Taylor, a son Theodore Richardson, a grandchild and a sister Jean Koar.
His Funeral Service will be held at Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home & Crematory, 659 East Greenwich Avenue, West Warwick on Friday, January 23 at 11 AM. Visitation will be from 9:30- 11 AM prior to the service. Please omit flowers. Donations may be made to VNA Care New England, 51 Health Lane, Warwick, RI 02886.
