(01/20/15) PIASCZYK, Leon S., 87, of Kulas Road, West Warwick, passed away Monday, Jan. 19, 2015 surrounded by his loving family at Kent Hospital.
He was the beloved husband of Helen T. (Nowicki) Piasczyk, they had been married for 64 years. Born in West Warwick, he was the son of the late Ludwik and Mary (Banka) Piasczyk.
Mr. Piasczyk was a production planner at GE, Electric Boat Division for 35 years retiring in 1989 and was a Navy veteran serving in WWII and the Korean Wars.
Besides his wife he leaves, four children, Barbara Warner and her husband Barry of West Warwick, Leonard Piasczyk and his wife Jean of Coventry, Thomas Piasczyk and his companion Michele Dahl of West Warwick, and Kristen Garant and her husband Richard of Coventry; five grandchildren, Christopher Piasczyk, Heather Anderson, Brendon Warner, Matthew Warner, Benjamin Torgan and two great grandchildren, William and Colin Warner.
Visiting hours will be held Thursday, Jan. 22, 2015 from 8:00-9:30 am in the HENAULT-GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 5 Eddy St., West Warwick followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in Our Lady of Czenstochowa Church, Washington St., Coventry.
