(01/20/15) Kenneth C. Howard, 80, of Cranston passed away on Monday, January 19, 2015. He was the husband of the late Norma (George) Howard. Born in Bradley, KY, he was a son of the late Sam and Alda Howard.
Mr. Howard was the co-owner with his late wife of Howard’s Inc. and also owned and operated several wholesale stores and auctions. He retired from Allied Barton Securities working at MetLife as a main entrance greeter, where he made many friends and lasting relationships. Kenneth proudly served in The United States Army during the Korean War. He was an avid New England Patriots fan.
He was the beloved father of Kenneth C. Howard, Jr. of Providence, Joseph S. Howard and his wife Ericka of Warwick and Sheila A. Sulyma and her husband Walter, Jr. of Warwick. Loving grandfather of Kenneth C. Howard, Krystal Howard, Joshua J. Howard, Alexander N. Sulyma and Samantha K. Howard. Cherished great grandfather of Patrick Murphy and Lillyann Murphy. Caring brother of Lyla Kaye Rice and her husband Howard of Salyersville, KY, Don Howard and his wife Kathy of Berea, KY, Dan Howard of Salyersville, KY and the late John and Fred Howard, Arta Hale, Jolene Hahn and Naomi Elrod.
His Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at 9:00 am in THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Route 5, Warwick (Exit 12A on I-95). Burial, with military honors, will follow in The R.I. Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. Relatives and friends are invited. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 5:00-7:00 pm.
