James A Hodgson - Lincoln, RI

(12/27/14) LINCOLN – James A. Hodgson, 87, of Arlington Drive, died Saturday, December 27, at the Holiday Retirement Home, Manville. He was the beloved husband of sixty-three years to Elaine M. (Dickie) Hodgson. Born in Providence, a son of the late Reginald A. and Marion (Quigley) Hodgson, he had lived in Lincoln for the past forty-nine years. Mr. Hodgson had worked for many years as a Service Contractor for the former Monroe Office Equipment, Providence, retiring in 1999. He was an active member of Chapel Street Congregational Church, Lincoln, and was involved for many years in the Rhode Island Conference of the United Church of Christ, serving as Treasurer. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving in World War II, and had been a very active member of the Lincoln Lions Club. Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Deborah Dogul of Cumberland, and Beth Hodgson-Wright of Ponchatoula, La.; one sister, Lois Cooke of Greenville, and several nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late David Hodgson, and the brother of the late Dorothy Murphy. A Service of Remembrance & Thanksgiving will take place in the spring, at a date and time to be announced. His burial will be private, at the convenience of the family. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
