(12/20/14) Warwick - Norma C. Carlson, 91, formerly of Haverhill Avenue, died Friday, December 19, 2014 at West Shore Health Center. She was the beloved wife of the late Rolland R. Carlson.
Born in Providence, the daughter of the late Albert E. Jones Jr. and the late Florence A. (Read) Jones, she lived in Warwick since 1938. She worked as a supervisor, employed by the Waldot Company of Pawtuxet.
She was an avid walker, especially at the Mall. She loved to bake and sew; take care of her grandchildren and she was an avid reader.
She is survived by three children: Ronald K. Carlson & his wife Susan of Rehoboth, MA, Scott R. Carlson of West Warwick and Janis L. Kelley of North Kingstown; five grandsons: Jason & Adam Carlson, Douglas Ferland, Justin & Jonathan Kelley and nine great grandchildren: Lainie, Ziah & Trenton Carlson, Christopher & Alyssa Ferland, Aidan, Teagan, Alton & Luke Kelley. She was predeceased by her brother Kenneth Jones.
Her funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 23 at 11:00 am at Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home & Crematory, 659 East Greenwich Avenue, West Warwick. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home prior to the service from 10:00 – 11:00 am. Interment will be in the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter.
