(12/18/14) North Kingstown - David C. Morin, 58, died unexpectedly on Monday, December 15, 2014 at home. He was the beloved husband of Kathleen A. (Ryan) Morin to whom he was married 34 years. Born in Warwick, the son of the late Normand and Lodia “Rita” (DeFosse) Morin, he graduated from West Warwick High School in 1974 and has lived in North Kingstown for the past 23 years. He studied building construction at New England Institute of Technology and he was employed by the Gilbane Company as an MEP Coordinator. David twice had survived battles with cancer. He loved being on the water in his boat. He was an avid fisherman; enjoying trips on Narragansett Bay & offshore as well as fly fishing, especially on Wood River. He was a member of the Quonset Davisville Naval Yacht Club (QDNYC). Spending any time he could outdoors, he also enjoyed hunting, backpacking, camping and canoeing. He was a hardworking and very talented guy. David often would work with wood and leather and over the years made many of his own fishing poles. He was truly a \"Renaissance\" man. He was a fun guy to be with. His family and friends knew he was loyal and reliable and whenever he had the chance to help someone else, he would and he did so never feeling that opportunity was a task or a chore. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters Alison H. Morin of Warwick and Chelsea L. Morin of North Kingstown and by his in-laws, John and Barbara Ryan of Warwick. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2014 from 5:00 - 8:00 PM at Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home & Crematory, 659 East Greenwich Avenue, West Warwick. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations made to the American Cancer Society, 931 Jefferson Boulevard Suite 3004, Warwick, RI 02886.
