(11/24/14) William C. Falk, Sr., of Maple Root Village, Coventry, RI, passed away on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at Philip Hulitar Home & Hospice of RI, Providence, RI. Born in Coventry, RI he grew up in the Abbotts Crossing section of the Washington district of Coventry, RI. He was the husband of Mary F. (Sullivan) Falk. They were married for sixty-eight years. He was the son of the late Carl Wilhelm and Doris (Greene) Goozey.
William was a maintenance person at Quonset Point Naval Air Station, North Kingstown, RI for twenty-six years until retiring in 1972. He was a US Marine Corps Veteran of WWII serving four years with the First Marine Division and was the recipient of the Purple Heart medal for being wounded at Guadacanal Campaign in the South Pacific.
Besides his wife he is survived by three sons: William Carl Falk, Jr., Dennis Guy Falk and his wife Carol and Kevin Michael Falk and three grandchildren; Dennis Michael Falk, Jennifer Leigh Falk and William Carl Falk, III. He was predeceased by his sister: Gloria Williams.
His services will be private and under the direction of Gorton-Menard Funeral Home and Crematory, 721 Washington Street, Coventry, RI.
