(11/19/14) Lena E. (Urso) Gervasini, 88, passed away on Tuesday morning, November 18, 2014 while spending the past three years under the wonderful care of the staff in the Alzheimer’s Unit at the Westerly Nursing Home.
Lena was the wife of the late Eugene F. Gervasini. She was born in Westerly on June 30, 1926, the daughter of the late Angelo and Filomena (Morrone) Urso. In her later years, she enjoyed the companionship and married Joseph A. Pescatello Sr.
Mrs. Gervasini is survived by her 5 children, Lena J. Sisk, wife of David, Michael A. Gervasini, husband of Debra, Paula L. Merdink, Carla L. Servideo, wife of Paul and Arthur J. Gervasini, husband of Heidi. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren with another expected, her brother, Angelo “Bubba” Urso and her sister, Mary Lawton. She was pre-deceased by her siblings, Natale Urso, John Urso, Frank Urso, Eleanor Sammataro and Margaret Lord.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, November 21, 2014 at 11:30 am at Immaculate Conception Church, 111 High Street, Westerly. Burial will take place at St. Sebastian Cemetery. A calling hour will take place from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on the day of the Mass at Rushlow-Iacoi Funeral Home & Crematory, 64 Friendship Street, Westerly.
