(10/24/14) EDWARDO, Sandra A. (Shaw), 72, of Lake Worth, FL and formerly of North Providence, died peacefully on Sunday, October 19, 2014 after a battle with brain cancer.
She was the wife of the late Philip A. Edwardo, Jr. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Allen and Lena (Flynn) Shaw.
Sandy graduated from Blessed Sacrament School, St. Xavier’s High School and Rhode Island Hospital School of Nursing. She devoted her adult life to the nursing profession, working at the Rhode Island Institute of Mental Health and Fatima Hospital and ultimately serving as a Nurse Manager for many years at the Veterans Administration Hospital.
We will remember Sandy for her boundless energy, her sharp wit and sense of humor, and her devotion to her family and friends. She loved to travel and to seek out new adventures, the crazier the better.
She is survived by her sister, Madeline Shaw of Providence; her three children, Philip Edwardo, III of West Palm Beach, Stephanie Huling of East Greenwich and Hollie Edwardo of Warwick and her grandchildren, Gabriella and Justin Edwardo and Leah, Cate and Maya Huling.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2014 at 11:00 am in St. George Maronite Catholic Church (formerly St. Ann Church) 1493 Cranston St., Cranston.
