(10/09/14) East Providence - Eunice A. Tuckerman, 88, died Sunday, October 5, 2014 at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence. She was the beloved wife of the late Ernest W. Tuckerman.
Born in Providence, the daughter of the late Henry N. and Alma H. (Petersson) Abramson, she grew up in Historic Pontiac Village, Warwick and graduated from Lockwood High School. In 1947 she graduated from the former Rhode State College, now URI, where she belonged to Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. She had been an East Providence resident since 1953.
She is survived by her children: Mark Tuckerman of Meredith, NH, Steven Tuckerman & his wife Krystyna of Rutland, VT, Jane O\'Brien of Warwick and Sarah Kilian of Utica, NY; grandchildren: Ernest Kent \"Zeke\" O\'Brien, Benjamin & Molly Kilian and brother: Richard H. Abramson. She was the mother-in-law of Michael Kilian of Maryland and of the late John O’Brien.
She was a loyal fan of the World Series champion Red Sox for over 75 years; she enjoyed her days at Briggs Beach and she was a dedicated volunteer at East Providence Public Libraries. She took great pleasure in hosting the traditional Swedish Christmas Eve for her extended family.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Sunday, October 12 at 2:00 pm at the Church of the Epiphany, 1336 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence. The family will receive friends in the Church Narthex beginning one hour prior to the service. In honor of her being an avid and prolific knitter, please wear a sweater to the memorial service.
After cremation, a private burial took place at the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Exeter. Kindly omit flowers.
