(10/06/14) Guy Mather, 56, of Stevens Drive, died Saturday, October 4, 2014 at home surrounded by his loving family after a very brief battle with an aggressive form of cancer. He was the beloved husband of Luanne M. (Lima) Mather with whom he celebrated their 36th wedding anniversary on March 11, 2014.
Born in Warwick, he was the son of the late Walter and Elizabeth J. (Cronenweth) Mather, Jr. A finished cabinet maker by trade, Guy was the owner of Coastal Installation Concepts Inc. of West Warwick.
When he wasn’t working Guy enjoyed riding one of his three motorcycles. He and his wife rode together on long road trips, especially to New Hampshire and New York. He also enjoyed playing in chariable golf tournaments.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children: Jason and Jennifer Mather; one sister: Gay Mather and two brothers: Mark and Shawn Mather. He was the grandfather of Kylie M. Raposo and the nephew of Joye & James Greenhalgh.
Guy is being remembered as a self-made, selfless man. He was a great provider and helped many people in his short life.
His funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 9 at 10:00 am at Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home & Crematory, 659 East Greenwich Avenue, West Warwick. Calling hours Wednesday 4-7 PM.
