(10/02/14) Dr. William P. Proulx, D.P.M., 97, a prominent West Warwick podiatrist, passed away Sept. 22, 2014 in Bedford, Kentucky.
He was the husband of the late Edith (Lamothe) Proulx. Born in West Warwick, a son of the late Alfred and Angelina (St. Germaine) Proulx. He resided in the Pawtuxet Valley area for many years before moving to Kentucky.
Dr. Proulx was a graduate of LaSalle Academy, Holy Cross College and Philadelphia College of Podiatric Medicine. He was a longtime member and past president of the West Warwick Lions Club, RI Podiatric Society, Coventry Little League Association and the West Warwick Chapter of the Red Cross. He was a former member of the West Warwick Country Club and West Warwick AARP.
He is survived by his daughter, Sandra E. Basso with whom he lived; two daughters-in-law, Kathie Proulx in Kentucky and Francine Proulx of East Greenwich, eleven grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. He was the father of the late Bill Proulx and Michael Proulx and brother of the late Alfred Proulx and Phyllis Lavoie.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, Oct. 11, 2014 at 11:00 am in St. John the Baptist Church, Washington St., West Warwick.
