Steven V Seminara - Lincoln, RI

(09/08/14) Lincoln – Steven V. Seminara, 64, of Smith Street died Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at home. He was the beloved partner of Linda Mendonca. Born in Brooklyn, NY, a son of the late John and Marian (Calcopietro) Seminara, he had lived in Warwick before moving to Lincoln 5 years ago. Mr. Seminara was an Assistant Professor in the Mechanical Engineering Technology Department at New England Institute of Technology. Steve began teaching at New England Tech in 1996, and served as the Department Chair. He previously worked for General Electric and Electric Boat before he began teaching for 10 Years at RPI. He received his Bachelor’s Degree and his Master’s Degree from RPI in Mechanical Engineering. He was a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and the American Society of Engineering Education. Besides his partner, he is survived by four children, Michaela Seminara of Warwick, John Seminara of Connecticut, Nicholas Seminara of East Providence and Christopher Seminara of Warwick; one sister, MaryEllen Haldas (her husband, Gerald and her daughter, Emily) of Merrick, NY. He was the brother of the late Robert Seminara. His Memorial Service will be held SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 13 at 2 P.M. at BELLOWS FUNERAL CHAPEL, 160 River Road, Lincoln. The burial of his ashes will be in his family’s lot on Long Island. Calling Hours are respectfully omitted.
