(09/01/14) East Greenwich -- Mei-Heung (Yuen) Leung, 91, a longtime resident of East Greenwich, died Sunday August 31, 2014 at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center in Providence. She was the beloved wife of the late Hong-Cheuk Leung.
Born in Ngau-Rue Village, Toi Shan, Canton, China, a daughter of the late Fook-Nan and Ngan-Oi (Ngai) Yuen, she had worked for many years at the Cathay Garden Restaurant in East Greenwich. She was a member of the Chinese Christian Church of RI, Pawtucket.
She is survived by four sons: Wah Fai & his wife Wui Ying Leung of High Point, NC; Tin Wah & his wife Wai Ying Leung of East Greenwich; Heung Wah & his wife May Leung of Lexington, MA and Kau Wah & his wife Soo Kam Leung of Folsom, CA; one daughter: Pui Wan Henderson, the wife of the late Thomas Henderson, of Asheville, NC; twelve grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
Her funeral service will be Saturday, September 6 at 10 AM in the Chinese Christian Church of RI, 333 Roosevelt Ave., Pawtucket. Calling hours Friday, September 5 from 4-8 PM at Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home & Crematory, 659 East Greenwich Avenue, West Warwick. Burial will be in Newport Memorial Park, Middletown.
