(07/16/12) Joseph C. Scuncio, 64, of Catalpa Ct. in Charlestown, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Monday July 16th at the Rhode Island Hospital in Providence. He was the husband of Shirley (Ritchie) Scuncio of Charlestown.
Born in Providence a son of John J. and Lillian (Moretti) Scuncio of West Kingston, Joseph was a lifelong resident of South County. For many years, he was the manager at the former Almacs Grocery store.
Besides his wife Shirley, and his parents John and Lillian, Joseph is survived by two loving sons; Eric J. Scuncio of West Warwick and Donnie Lee Ritchie of Warwick, three loving daughters; Tina Iacuele of Charlestown, Dianna Scuncio of Narragansett and Amanda Scuncio of South Kingstown, his brother John Scuncio of Rockville and his six grandchildren; Emily Iacuele, Sofia Villavicencio, Alexia Ritchie, Shelby Ritchie, Saleen Ritchie and Cyrus Ritchie.
Services will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Scuncio family to help offset medical expenses. Arrangements made by the Forbes Funeral Home.
