(08/05/14) Edmond R. Vient, 89, of Warwick passed away on Saturday, August 2, 2014 at Philip Hulitar Hospice Center. He was the husband of the late Bertha (Chrones) Vient. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Edmond and Alice (Costello) Vient.
Mr. Vient was a Mechanic and Instructor at the Quonset Point Naval Air Station until his retirement. He served in The United States Navy during WW II. He was a member of the American Legion Post 12 in East Greenwich, V.F.W. and D.A.V.
He was the beloved father of Patricia A. Sacha and her husband Bradley of Warwick. Loving grandfather of Nicole A. Sacha of East Greenwich. He was the brother of the late Noel Vient.
His funeral will be held on Friday, August 8, 2014 at 9:00 am from THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Route 5, Warwick (Exit 12A on I-95) with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Catherine of Siena Church, 3250 Post Road, Warwick. Burial, with military honors, will follow in St. Ann Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited. Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 6-8 pm.
