(08/27/12) Vincent J. McCabe, Jr., 72, of Warwick, died Friday, August 24, 2012 at his home. Born in Providence, May 8, 1940 he was the son of the late Vincent J. McCabe, Sr. (Capt. WPD) and Alice B. (Kelley) McCabe.
A Programmer for M.I.T. at the Lincoln, MA Lab, he retired after 30 years of dedicated service.
He was an alumnus of Warwick Veterans High and So. Illinois University. Vincent proudly served in the US Army for 11 years, including 3 tours of duty in Vietnam. He was awarded the Bronze Star.
He is survived by his devoted sister, Sheila L. Curran and her husband Harry of Warwick; his nephew Harry Jacob Curran, his niece Helen Kelley Mercurio and several grandnieces and grandnephews.
His funeral service was held Monday, August 27, 2012 at twelve noon in The Urquhart-Murphy Funeral Home, 800 Greenwich Ave., Route 5, Warwick, (Exit 12A off of I-95). Burial with military honors took place at the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter.
