(07/24/14) West Greenwich - Dehe Cui, 57, died Saturday, July 19, 2014 at home after a short illness of pancreatic cancer. He was the beloved husband of Zhao Runping to whom he was married for 32 years.
Born in Shandong Province, China, the son of Jia Mei Ying of China and the late Cui Jun Tai, he had lived in Cranston before moving to West Greenwich in 2004. He was a Senior Principal Engineer, employed by G-TECH for 23 years until his illness. He previously was employed by Siemens Medical Electronics.
A 1987 graduate of Northeast Institute of Technology, Shen Yang, China he received both a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering. He furthered his studies and graduated from Northern Illinois University, DeKalb, IL in 1989 at which time he received a Master of Science Degree in Computer Information Systems. He was a Ph.D. student at Northeastern University in Boston, MA with his concentration in Object Oriented Programming, X-Windows, before joining G-TECH in 1991.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by two sons: Joe Cui and Jerry Cui both of West Greenwich and two sisters: Cui Ai Ling and Cui Yu Hong both of China.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, July 25, 2014 from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM and again from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home & Crematory, 659 East Greenwich Avenue, West Warwick, RI. His family will hold a private funeral service on Saturday followed by burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, West Greenwich.
His family will make a decision on Thursday regarding memorial donations. An update will be posted as soon as the family makes a decision.
