(07/09/14) Cranston - Florence J. (Holloway) Gill, 93, of Harris Avenue died Saturday, July 5, 2014 at Steere House Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Providence.
Born in Providence, the daughter of the late Thomas S. and Mabelle A. (Eastman) Holloway, she lived in Providence for 10 years before moving to Cranston in 1975.
She worked as a waitress at the Cathy Terrace in Warwick and at the Miami Diner in Cranston retiring in 1965. She previously was employed by the Spidel Corporation for 5 years in the repair department. She was a member of the Harris House Tenants Association.
She is survived by one sister: Martha Kent of Providence and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband: Charles J. O\'Meara and by three siblings: Eileen Yorke, Gordon S. Holloway and Elaine Carlisle.
Her funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2014 at 10:00 AM at Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home & Crematory, 659 East Greenwich Avenue, West Warwick. Relatives & friends are invited and may call at the funeral home prior to the service on Saturday from 9:00 – 10:00 AM. Burial will be private on Monday in the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter.
