(07/07/14) Pawtucket – Harry A. Miller, 71, of West Forest Avenue died Sunday, July 6, 2014 at Bethany Home, Providence. He was the beloved husband of Gail (Thomson) Miller.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, a son of the late Harry F. and Catherine (McDade) Miller, he had lived in Pawtucket for the past 50 years.
Mr. Miller was a project manager and estimator for Donatelli Construction Company for 10 years before retiring in 1991. He previously worked for Diebold Safe Company, Mosler Safe Company, and Citizens Bank.
He served 22 years in the United States Navy and Navy Reserve retiring with the rank of HTC. He served during the Cuban Missile Crisis and the Vietnam War. In 1995, he was the driving force behind YAGRS, a military reunion group. He volunteered at Battleship Cove on the USS Massachusetts where he did maintenance on the ship. He volunteered until becoming ill in 2012.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Harry A. Miller, Jr. of Warwick and Christopher “Kit” Miller and his wife, Lisa of Rumford; four sisters including Kathleen Gannon of Warminster, PA; two step grandchildren, Brady and Wes Moniz; and several nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be held FRIDAY, JULY 11 at 11 A.M. at BELLOWS FUNERAL CHAPEL, 160 River Road, Lincoln. Burial, with military honors, will be in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
