(08/25/12) McCORMICK, James Robert “Mac”, 60, of 21 King Philip Road, formerly of North Kingstown, died peacefully at home on Aug. 25, 2012 surrounded by his loving family.
He was the husband of Paula M. (Finnerty) McCormick. Born in Charleston, West Virginia, the son of Phyllis R. (Mullins) McCormick and the late James E. McCormick.
James was a Vietnam War veteran serving in the United States Navy between March 1971 and February 1975 as a Gunners Mate on the USS Santa Barbara. He also served in the Naval Reserves between March 1975 and January 1977 before residing in Rhode Island. He graduated from Roger Williams College and finished his career with Jade Engineered Plastics in Bristol as their General Manager. James was also the Quartermaster and a house Committee Member of the Crompton Veterans Organization.
In addition to his wife and mother he leaves a daughter, Samantha L. McCormick; a son, Jesse M. McCormick; a sister, Janet L. Simpson; two brothers, Danny R. McCormick and C. Curtis McCormick and family,
Marie L. McCormick.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service on Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2012 at 10 am in the HENAULT-GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 5 Eddy St., West Warwick. Interment will follow with military honors in RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours Monday 4-7 pm also in the funeral home.
