(06/23/14) Cranston - Barbara A. (Matteson) Potter, 97, died peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, June 22, 2014. She was the wife of the late James M. Potter. Born in Coventry, she was the daughter of the late Thomas H. and Emily A. (Knight) Matteson. She was a Past Worthy Advisor of Cranston Assembly, International Order of Rainbow for Girls and a recipient of the Rainbow Grand Cross of Color. She was a member of Phillips Memorial Baptist Church. Mrs. Potter is survived by two daughters: Judith A. Potter of West Kingston and Mary E. Bourski & her husband Alan of Narragansett; one sister: Anita M. Allen of Florida; three grandchildren: Kerrie Bourski & her husband Lubos Grossmann of Newport, Marcie E. Morales & her husband Gus of Pembroke Pines, FL and Brian Bourski & his wife Katie of Esmond and two great grandsons: Sebastian and Nicholas Morales. She was the sister of the late Amey F. Matteson and Mildred Owen. Funeral service Wednesday, June 25 at 9:30 AM at Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home & Crematory, 659 East Greenwich Avenue, West Warwick. Relatives & friends are invited and may call prior to the service from 9:00 - 9:30. Burial in the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery will be private. Kindly omit flowers.
