Myrna Lamb - Lincoln, RI

(06/14/14) Lincoln – Myrna Lamb, 71, radio personality, astrologer, published author and teacher, passed away on Monday, June 9. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert Lamb. She is survived by her daughters, Nadia Lamb, Ariela McCaffrey, and her brother, Eliot. She was affectionately known as Purple Gram to her treasured grandchildren, Jakob, Nastasya, Declan and Aven. Myrna hosted a variety of radio programs, first on astrology, then a general advice show, syndicated on NBC and broadcast on 300 radio stations nationwide. Her next talk shows aired on WGY in Albany, NY, and then on WPRO, Providence. She was awarded an Associated Press Award for best talk program. Her background was eclectic. Starting with a liberal arts education, she went on to earn a BFA in painting from Rhode Island School of Design, spending her senior year in Italy on the European Honors’ Program. She spoke Italian fluently. While in college, she completed a year of equity apprenticeship at Trinity Repertory Theater in Rhode Island. She held Master’s degrees in both teaching and psychology, and taught art on every level from preschool through college, in private classes, public middle school, and at Rhode Island School of Design. With over 100 family and friends in attendance, Myrna celebrated her life at an event held on Sunday, May 25.
