(06/03/14) Glenn Richard Dummer, “Bulldog” as he was known to many, passed away unexpectedly on June 3, 2014. Drawing since he could hold a pen, he honed his craft over the years and became an accomplished artist. Though he never took an art class, he spent countless hours studying form on his own and was unflagging in his dedication to rendering images to perfection. He studied Art Education at the University of Maine because it combined his love of art with his love of children. He went on to become an award-winning and published tattoo artist and worked in many shops in RI, owning his own, Bulldog Tattoo, in Pawtucket. His talent will live on in the many people he tattooed with his custom work. His greatest love and the best piece of art work he produced was his son, Eric Joseph Dummer, 12, of Johnston, RI. He was fiercely proud of, and truly devoted to, his son’s happiness. He was the beloved son of Richard C. and Geraldine M. (Shirley) Dummer of Warwick, RI, and will be sadly missed by them, his sister, Kristin E. Dummer, and nephew, Lucas C. Foley, both also of Warwick. His love of dogs, especially all breeds of bulldogs, was legendary, and in lieu of flowers donations can be made to the RISPCA in his name. A private ceremony and burial will be In Weld, Maine.
